Not So Super Supernatural Spoiler
I ran across something I found disturbing last night and thought I would bring it to you, my SN lovin friends, to see if you have the same reaction that I do to this potential spoiler news. I don’t read actual spoilers for Supernatural or Heroes or Lost, not since I let myself get spoiled on the season 3 Lost finale and some of the awesomeness of the most awesome episode of anything I’ve ever seen was diminished by my knowing what was coming. But I do read those spoiler chats on eonline and tvguide. They rarely give away any huge plot point. Usually you find out some blond on Heroes is going to die, but it might not be what it seems. Then you fool yourself into thinking it won’t be Elle, but then it is, and it’s exactly as it seems. So I take all these with a grain of salt but the idea is obviously floating out there in cyber space and needs to be addressed.

Let’s just say that if you happen to look like these dreamy dudes above (and God bless you for it), you should contact the CW right away, because I’m hearing that yes, you guessed it! There just might be a third freaking Winchester brother out there. Hear that? It’s the sound of my mind exploding! I’m told that the possible third brother has not been cast, but we’ll start hearing rumblings of another son courtesy of Dean and Sam’s father John Winchester, aka Jeffrey Dean Morgan, this season. Seriously, does that dead dude get around or what?! Meanwhile, I’m dying to know what you think of this twist and if anyone out there could possibly be delicious enough to pull off the same genetic code as Jensen and Jared. So please comment below, and if you have any casting suggestions, bring ‘em!
Reactions? I can tell you mine is a resounding NO THANK YOU! Like Dean and Sam don’t have enough going on without a third brother appearing on the scene? For me, the main appeal of Supernatural, other than the Pretty, is the relationship between the brothers. They don’t need an interloper coming in and getting in the way of their issues. I think, you know, the whole Dean working with the angels and possibly having to fight his brother Sam with the demon blood is more than enough to focus on for the season, don’t you? If they must bring a third party in, make him an unknown uncle or cousin or something. I don’t want another Winchester brother.
Kristin also mentioned in another spoiler chat that they want to bring Anna back. Ugh to that one as well, though I can handle it as long as Dean doesn’t get touched by an angel with her again. Sorry, there was no chemistry there and I blame a lot of that on the actress looking like she was going to the dentist instead of getting to have sex with the Pretty. Probably, again some more, the fact that she wore a bra during their sex scene. Reminded me of some frigid virgin. Much hate. I mean, it’s on tv, so why not take the bra off, they’re not gonna show your boobs to the audience woman. Maybe I can’t identify because if I was an extra in a background scene with Jensen they’d have a hard time keeping me clothed.
Oops, I got sidetracked. So what do my SN readers think of this brother idea? The commentary on Kristin’s report all seems resoundingly negative. I know Kripke hits the web so maybe he’ll see it and torpedo the idea. I hope so, this season has some really promising things going on with the Dean/Sam potential battle and I don’t want that interfered with.

It’s helped me discovered that I’m really gay and have manlove for both Dean and Sam. I have given up that crappy OTH show and given my heart, and other parts, to SN.

oh wow we so blogged on the same thing oops. Just shows how passionate we are about it! I totally voted No by the way. I really cant see them doing it at this point. We know Kripke likes to mess with fans, she’s said it on video before.

Ha, not only did we blog on the same thing, we commented on each other’s blogs at just about the same time. Clearly we are bonded! I agree, I think it’s probably a foiler to get us all worked up so we won’t be mad when they do something stupid, saying well at least he didn’t bring on a 3rd brother! Plus Kristin generally gets these things wrong, but I thought I’d address it just on the off-chance that he was serious!

Seriously, we’ve been without the show for a month now and then we’re suddenly hit with all these upcoming things, some of which suck. I don’t want my joy in the return of the Jensen diminished! Though that last one you mentioned could be a good one at least!

And that’s the reason why I don’t read spoilers. Makes my life so much more easier.
I actually wouldn’t mind a third Pretty on the show since Daddy Winchester disappeared, but there’s a catch or two.
1. Bringing a third brother this season or the next is way too soon. As you said, there’s more than enough issues and conflicts between Dean and Sam with them possibly fighting each other while angels and demons watch. The epic battle.
They really should have the guts to play this to the end, hit all the beats, but they don’t. and that’s the greatest sin of all shows and all writers these days. I really shouldn’t bother but after finishing watching another show that disappointed me, I’d weep if SN did disappoint me like that. And they just might.
2. They would need a stellar casting. They would need someone who remotely looks like JDM and JA and JP with pretty hints from another woman. That is a next to an impossible task and after seeing what the casting of this show has done with the female characters (possibly excluding Mary and the blind seer), I don’t trust them one bit.

Ha, well I don’t read the big spoilers on this show, I don’t wanna know who all will die and when, but the casting stuff and mainstream stuff I don’t mind knowing.
I agree with you, I don’t mind the concept of a third brother either, but only if it was next season or some further down the road season (I know they’re only supposed to do 5 but a girl can dream). Once Dean and Sam deal with the whole angels vs. demons, brothers on the opposite sides thing that they’re setting up, then maybe they can deal with a long lost sibling. It might bring them closer together in a following season for example. But they certainly don’t need it right now.
And yeah, the casting thing is what worries me the most. Now they have had some hits lately, with Castiel and Mary and Grandpa Sam but they’ve had some major misses (Hello Ruby!) as well. So I will be very frightened waiting to see if someone is cast and if they do bear some resemblance to all 3 Winchesters. I agree, impossible. Plus the chemistry between JA and JP…I just don’t want that messed with. Unless he was a one shot character and they went their separate ways and/or he died. I don’t see the point of that though, so it does indeed worry me.
Hopefully this is just a Kripke foiler to try to keep the fans guessing and maybe to sneak in something we don’t like, but we won’t mind as much as we would a third brother. I do know that he hits the net so I’m hoping he’ll see someone’s response (I’m not egotistical enough to think it would be mine!) and stops the idea in its tracks or at least puts it off til next season though.
